Yesterday we screened our copy of "The Grinch". Not a big deal, our first show that day was at 5:00pm so might as well get it out of the way. we notice that the 3rd reel needs to be replaced (Dolby Digital dropout). So I call it in.4 hours later to my amazement I get a call on the radio informing me that my new reel of "Grinch" was downstairs. I could not believe it. After all it took them a week to send me a new reel for "Bagger Vance". So I walked downstairs and there it was. A representative from Sky Courier with the 3rd reel of the "Grinch". So I signed for it, and had it changed by the end of the night.
I just thought this was a little wierd and thought that I would share.

Actually, it's not that weird. TES has learned that they need to have backup prints waiting at local Airborne/Sky Courier depots on the breaks for such instances. I believe this is standard practice nowadays on any big release.Did you not get your "Grinch" print on Wednesday? Most everyone else I know did and what a nice surprise THAT was.

I didn't get my Grinch or 6th Day until 9 pm Thursday night. There was some mechanical problem w/ Airborne in Minnesota, or something...that's what the lady on the phone said.

I believe I talked to Kim. I called them at 6:15 to ask why my films weren't delivered between my 4-6 window, and then they told me some story about Airborne having "mechanical problems."

That's who I talked too too. Mechanical problems indeed, lamest excuse I've ever heard.
