On one of our Strong Simplex projectors the framing knob and intermittent slowly creep counterclockwise as a show is running causing the screen image to sink. How do I fix this?

First, has this been ocurring for a long time? or did it just start? If it just started, make sure the intermittent is not binding while in 'pull down' either by excessive film tension or mechanical problem with the intermittent. If it's been happening for a while, then the P-1705 framing clamp retainer springs have relaxed causing the framing cam (holds the intermittent) to slowly rotate. Generally, it is wise to replace both P-1705, and double them up!
(They are sent from factory installed singally) This will make the framing a little stiffer but you won't get frame drift!

See my It wasn't even Saturday Night thread below. I had the same problem and ended up replacing the intermittent and the soundhead gear box.
