I discussed the financial situation about Loews Theaters with the manager of the new Loews cinema 20 at the Loop in Methuen Ma., awhile ago.He told me that they had caught up with their loan payments.Who knows? But with Sony behind them;I don't think that they have too much to worry about.------------------

Even if the parent company has money, that does not mean they will bail out the division that is loosing money. Bankrupcy gets them out of some debt, and keeps the shareholders happy.Even if they have caught up on payments, they will continue to have to make hard decisions.

I thought Loews and Cineplex odeon had merged together to form Loews Cineplex. I have read that Coneplex Odeon is having a lot of finacial trouble. Sony owns shares of Loews Theater managment. They consider the company as it's own entity. If it gets it's self into finacial truble don't expect any help. Sort of what Regal is going thru now.

Frank, There is already a thread several topics down titled "Rumor About Loews" a day or two ago. Please make it a point in the future to go to that thread and click on "post reply" and refrain from posting a "new topic" if a recent discussion is already open. Having multiple threads on the same discussion becomes confusing after awhile, particularly when searching the archives in the future.
