Anyone else find it strange that "The Brothers" came with two DTS discs, yet only reel 1 had timecode? How many other people had this happen on their prints? Are the same reels affected?

I haven't gotten mine yet (supposed to get 2) but that reminds me of another Columbia movie, "Men in Black" where only the first two reels had Dolby Digital on them (might have been just the first, but was definitely on the movie itself, not just the attached trailer.) I heard that the people who made the movie wanted it to go out in Dolby Digital, but Sony said "no" at the last minute. We didn't have any Dolby Digital equipment when this came out, just DTS which was on the entire movie, so nobody was faced with the dilemma of running the reels in digital that had it and the rest in analog

When I ran "Air Force One," it also had Dolby digital on just the first two reels.

I had a print of CRADLE WILL ROCK in which the Dolby digital track was missing from two reels.

Karen: Since the DTS timecode is printed with the same printer light as the analog soundtrack, wouldn't the absence of timecode on most of the reels imply that is was inadvertently left off when the sound negative was recorded? If so, it's likely that all prints are affected and without timecode.

It seems there were two print negatives made. I am trying to follow up so we can help the studio find the "mixed" print sets.

I made up 2 prints of this Thursday and all reels looked like they had proper DTS timecode; they aren't being shown in any DTS-equipped screens yet but look like they should work OK.

My prints of The brothers had all of the timecode printed on all reels. They ran with no problems.

Was the negative set without DTS timecode made for another region? Or was the timecode just inadvertently not exposed onto the sound negative?
