I have an idea for either 35 or 70 mm
film that have existing mag tracks on them.
The idea calls for recording part of the
mag tracks in digital form.
When Philips introduced their digital
compact cassette-not DAT-format,their
equipment used a stationary digital/analogue
record/playback head. If digital mag track
films are to be used, the penthouse would
need a digital/analogue stationary head.
Also Dolby would need to perfect a mag
Dolby digital format.

DTS is already used on 70mm film instead of mag tracks. If a film already has existing Mag tracks, I doubt anyone would want to record over the existing audio. It costs a lot to make the mag tracks in the first place.
