OK, I've never heard anyone ask this. When I use FilmGuard on my media pads, it's hit or miss on whether the media pads will take up on the Kelmar Film Cleaner. What's the trick for safely keeping the masking tape from coming unglued with those media pads nicely saturated with FilmGuard? It's like I wish I had a circular clip to hold the media pad to the takeup cardboard core rather than the masking tape. Any suggestions?

Attach the media pads to the cleaner BEFORE you soak them. Once attached (and taken up on the core), soak the pads (rotate them as you do this if you must). Soak only the payout side of the pads (don't soak the media that is on the take up core). Then, thread the movie. After that is done, manually advance the pads so that the wet part will come into contact with the film after a few feet of leader or whatever has been motored through.

Just like Mr.Joe said...that's the trick. 
It says that in the instructions, if they are followed step-by-step, but judging from the number of times I am asked that question, it needs a re-write. Also, we have found that "Scotch Magic tape" (not "removable" tape or "transparent" tape) is the best tape for use with the media. It won't leave a residue on the cores and has the best grip over all other kinds of tape we have tested.
