I have been given the enviable task of resurecting a pair of Amega dubbers/pickup recorders. Each one is a single unit in a 19" rack and it appears that it uses pilotone. The record/playback amps are about 3 units high and have a slopped front section with actual knobs for eq and gain
Does anyone have a set of books for this old stuff that I can get a copy of, so I can start work on them thanks

I think I threw the last two Amegas and books into the Chicago River a number of years back. Good Lord, why would anyone want a pair of these running?

It is a student workshop with next to no money for new equipment.
These were found in the back of a warehouse in the film dept and they want to see if they can be made operational again
any idea on the sync system

probablt the best thing you could do is find them a cheap pair of dubbers on E-bay. Upgrading the drive system on the Amegas is a worthless venture and way too expensive. Perhaps exploring a digital tape route such as a DA-88 would be more cost effective in this case too.
