I think Rank & MTE-Magna-tech Equipment- makes them. I'm not sure what other people make 35mm telecines. I think RCA used to make several telecines for 35 mm.

One of the best of the old style Telecines was made by RCA and consisted of the FR35B electronic pull down projector(very similar to the current Westrex) and a TK29 Film chain camera. This was the latest gestation of the old style of projector and seperate film camera systems. These can sometimes be had quite inexpensively if you hunt around for them. Keep in mind though thet at least the Telecine camera is a BIG and expensive maintainance item!

GPL made the XL available as a telecine (with a seperate drive motor for the shutter) and the Brenkert was also available for telecine
Tommy Hoad here in Canada used to convert Super to telecine with his own star and cam.
The FP20 is also a popular telecine projector as was the RCA
THe RCA electronic projector can be costly to maintain nowdays

International Cinema Equipment in Miami usually has a couple to choose from.I believe you'll find them here on the links page. Keep in mind that these things are heavy and expensive to ship.

I may have found one but I am told this machine can be used for 8mm, 16mm, and 35mm by changing plates. Does anybody know what this means? Are they still available? How much are they? This machine is a Rank Telecine MARK III B. Does anybody know what the B stands for? What year it may have been made? Thanks for any info. ------------------

Telecines are very sophisticated pieces of electronic gear, and can be very difficult to maintain and align, often requiring a full-time maintenance technician specifically trained for that model. The older Rank telecines were flying-spot scanner units, and some critical spare parts are now very difficult to obtain.------------------
