Can somewhat please tell me what that is? I am only familiar with tape splicing, but have come across references to ultrasonic splicing many times on the forums and on Film-Tech's website. thx!Ken

Don't forget the power of the search engines too. The forum has it's own dedicated search engine, located at the top right of every forum page. Just select the forum you wish to search, type in what you are looking for (example: ultrasonic) and in a few seconds you will have every instance where the search criteria was discussed.The "site search" is at the bottom right of your monitor, in blue letters, in the frame. That will search the entire site, forums, tips, reviews, etc.

In simple terms, an ultrasonic splicer "welds" the film by melting slightly overlapped sections of the film with ultrasonic energy. Metric and Hollywood Film Company make the most widely used units:
