We are looking into upgrading to automated masking in our theatre. Since we are an arthouse, we need 4 stops 2.35, 1.85, 1.66 and 1.33. Who makes masking motors and does anybody have a link for them?

ADC has a web-site......automaticdevices.com.....other suppliers are

ADC makes their "Logi-Stop" models (LS-1) but, beware! They are quite expensive.

ADC and MDI both have multiple stop models I think.
The Lesna motor is pretty nice but only does 2 stops.

Nick Mulone Brute Force motors are generally two stop and the least expensive on the market....never asked Nick if he would put a multi-stop feature to his units.......Side masking and lift type top masking motors are expensive due to long service life and tiny sales market....If you are technically inclined and time to spare to create a logic circuit...to save money you can use a garage door opener....Also with so many cinemas closing, there are many good used units floating around which could be upgraded with some home brew logic set-up ( limit switches from W.W.Grainger and a electromechanical set up with a few relays ).

I personally dislike the MDI masking machines as they are prone to loosing there limit settings if there is a power glitch.
