I have looked all over in the manuals for the 3-deck CFS super platters parts list. There are 2 bruses inside the motor that are spring loaded which in the spindle is rotating between them. They are at the end of the motor spindle. They wear out and need to be replaced. Got it? What are their part #s?

Use W.W. Grainger part number 1R236 which sells for $5.89 a pair.

The motors were built by Lamb Industries, (at least I thought they were) and may be available through Grainger. It is my understanding those motors were used in some of the older Kirby Vacuum Sweepers. However, inspect the communtator. If it is ok, new brushes will do the job for you. But, if it is lopsided and gouged, forget it. It might be too far gone to do any good with it. Get another motor.
Be sure to clean the communtator up before you install new brushes.
I saved all our spare motors from the CFS platters we took out of service. If you have converted or about to convert to Strong platters, save the old CFS motors. Those motors will save you lots of money. Swap the spindle on the motor shafts, take all of CFS's crap off the motor, and install Strong's stuff.
It might be necessary to drill out the holes on the mounting bracket a little, as some were fastened by smaller screws, and some were fastened by 1/4 inch capscrews. When you are done, you have a half-blue and half-hammertone grey paint job. Big deal. As long as it works....
As a matter of fact, I had to do this last week. One of the Strong platter motors had the bearings go south.
