Our rack on two of our auditoriums has capabilities of both dts and sdds. The setup makes sdds the main sound processor and dts the default. The mix on sdds sounds just stupendous but I'm curious as to the performance vs. dts. I will flip it on thursday and check it out, but would love to hear your opinions about this. Which is the better mix? Also, I keep being told that sony is out of the theatre biz, whats the story?

I would think that "the mix" would be 100% exactly the same since it is a standard 5.1 channel flick. The only differences you should here are from the actual codecs (ATRAC vs ATX1000 or whatever DTS is) and the setup of each unit. Are the levels set exactly the same for the SDDS and DTS units? If not, then you will hear a huge difference. One will sound better but not necessarily rightfully so. If they are both properly set up then the difference should be minimal.
