On these platters, several nutserts were broken, espically on the take-up carrage slide bar. Instead of procuring the proper repair parts, a previous person severely chingered out the holes and attempted jury rigged repairs. I was able to make a quick, inexpensive, quality repair by using expandable rubber (w/metal threads) inserts available from Ace Hardware. The ideal "proper" repair would have been to weld up and grind down the messed up holes and reinstall new correct nutserts. However, customers budget and time were limiting factors.

Also, for those of you with older AW 3-5 (5 deck platters) beware! The origonal style make-up break-down switch assembley is no longer available. However, there is a new style that Christie has that is a correct replacement assembly. They newer style is somewhat different than the origonal style, but is correct. Because of electronic differences between the two styles, it is not possible to compare them against each other. When installing the newer style, BE SURE TO INSTALL IN THE CORRECT DIRECTION PER INSTRUCTIONS OTHERWISE YOU WILL RUIN THE NEW SWITCH ASSEMBLY! Also, when installing new style switch assembly, some of the wiring harness bundle zip tie straps will have to be broken and removed
