Check out the blown power supply of the reader I am now repairing.

It did not blow the fuse or trip the breaker.

If that was where the molex connector once existed, there were several Dolby field bulletins regarding a fix for that. But obviously that one went a little too long without the fix

Early DA20s have a similar problem with their power supplies as well.

Depending on the age of the unit, it should be a warranty fix.

This unit is probably out of warantee by many years. Dolby does have an exchange service where a refurbished to Dolby specs CAT 700 is traded for yours for a flat fee......if it is only the board, may be less expensive to purchase a replacement and the molex connectors.

The theater has never serviced its equipment since 97.
I have other pictures of how bad the amps were cloged with dirt and
both projectors were in very bad shape. ( little or no oil ...old caked on grease ) what a mess. Aaron thanks for the service tip. Richard your right I went ahead and ordered a new power supply and a new AC connector/switch ( which was also damaged )
