Just last week we received this print from a carmike cinema that had it on the break. The color was off on the first 2 reels, image rather yellow looking and the remaining 4 reels had a purple hue in the image next to the sound track. Then from the person that handled the film at carmike cinema caused damage during the last 2 minutes of reel 3, a splice about every 2 feet, and used white tape, emulsion scratches for about a minute in the middle of reel 4. TES had no replacement print. I know the damage came from the prior operator but has anyone else had a print with the yellowish reels and purple look?

You do realize that the beginning of the movie (I don't recall how much or whether it corresponds to reel breaks) is supposed to have a slightly yellowish cast to it so as though period footage, right? Could this be what you're referring to? Dunno anything about a purple hue; perhaps defective soundtrack application?

You mean a purple line on the very edge on the soundtrack side of the image. Seen this on a few prints. Doesn't show on screen or anything.

The purple or dark blue line between the analog soundtrack and the left hand edge of the image is the area of the soundtrack that did not have the silver redeveloped during processing. The projectable image area specified by standard SMPTE 195 should normally not show this area on the screen.
http://www.kodak.com/US/en/motion/support/processing/h249/h2409_05.shtml If this area is "purple", it is likely the new "high magenta" (magenta+silver) track that is more compatible with both old tungsten "white light" and new red LED readers. If it is dark blue, it is the older cyan+magenta+silver track. If the entire track is cyan, it is the new cyan dye track, and requires a red LED reader.
