The zoom ring on the zoom adaptor on our 16mm is very loose. There is no resistance. I've been tapeing it in place, but there must be a fix. It's a Kowa. Was there some sort of viscous stuff in the mechanism or what? If there was, can I just dribble something under the ring and into the mech. without it getting inside the optics?

Bill, I have to be frank with you on this one, since I am not familiar with the lense. If you don't have a firm answer from other forum members, I would recommend you contact the distributer for suggestions. In the meantime, don't pour any goop into it until you know for sure what the problem is.

I have maybe the same lense, the lube used is a thick silicon oil that gives the lense that firm feel. I would suggest takeing it to a lense repair shop, as it will need to be dismantled.------------------
