sorry about that I totaly forgot about the contest when I posted that thread. I know good and well that there has to be more screens than that with digital projectors. Sounds to me like the source just compiled a old list of theaters that had the systems and assumed that they were the only ones playing it.

All of the media accounts seem to be getting their information from this Wired Magazine article, which doesn't sound very authoritative to me. All they did was provide a list of the current 19 digital installations in the US. Ted had already mentioned the number 19 in the previous thread.Also in the previous thread, several people were discussing what sounded like new DLP installations being done in time for the release. Presumably, those new installtions would not be on the Wired list. So, I think the 19 figure is bogus.

It's likely that some members of Film-Tech are actively involved in new installations prior to May 16. We haven't seen or heard much from a few members lately because they are likely "scrambling" to get things up and running.My guess was 138 because Mr. Lucas likes the number 1138 (as in THX-1138). I think 1138 installations for US and Canada are very unlikely (even if subsidized), so I settled on 138 as a "reasonable" guess.

That sounds logical there John since Lucas used that number on the license plate on the yellow hotrod in American Graffiti. THX-138
