Base side continuous scratch 70mm....Will Photoguard repair this? It will cost me 2600$ to have it done.. I want input before I spend...
BTW this scratch happened before I came to work here.............------------------

UV-Cured overcoats should be fairly effective in covering base side scratches. Be sure they thoroughly clean (aqueous rewash or ultrasonic solvent) the print before treatment, or you will permanently "seal in" any dirt. The overcoat should NOT be applied along the edges or between the perforations, where it will be abraded by the projector and flake off.

I've never met a base scratch that Film Guard didn't cure. Why not try some and I think you'll get a fairly accurate preview of what a permanent UV fired coating will do.

Contact IMAX-70mmInc as they do there own in house photoguarding that doesn't cover the perfs so you will not get as much powdering
