If the whole print is out of sync, then your OFFSET is not correct. If only a part of the film is out of sync and you see the same on other prints, then that is they way the film was released. If only your print has the problem, get a replacement print/reel.

What digital format is the print you have that you can verify is in sync?
Karen,
Thanks for the reply. The sync problem comes and goes. Some scenes are dead on, others are off bad enough, that like I said, we have patrons come out to complain. All of the complaints have come within the first 15 minutes of the show. I have switched both houses to run in sr. Since this switch we have had no complaints, and the show is in sync, which made me suspicious of the disks. They were both DTS houses. I wish I had more information for you. Prior to the Ya Ya show, we have never had a complaint about a 35 show being out of sync. I am thinking about moving the print to a dolby house to see if the problem follows the print.
Chris
Are the out of sync scenes always the same? If yes, I believe that your print is faulty.
If not, I believe that your offset switch is fautly, try cleaning it with a contact cleaner.

I wouldn't have bothered answering if I wasn't playing it in dts. Yes, "one of my prints" is playing in dts. The other in sdds. Neither have problems.
Is the sync only a problem on that first reel? Have you sat and screened the other reels of the film in dts? I hate to suggest to anyone the horror of watching this movie, but perhaps it would be a good idea for you to stay after hours tonight and screen it to find out which reels are defective.
Also, before you go spraying anything like contact cleaner into the unit, move the print to another house and more importantly, play a different print in that house to see if the problem moves with the print.
Brad is right.
Use contact cleaner on that switch as last resource. But I had to clean mine.
