I am considering going to take the Kodak Advanced Projection Training in LA. I was wondering if anyone had ever been there and what they thought about it. Thanks

Hi John,

I attended the advanced class back in December and enjoyed it quite a bit. The instructors where very good. One of the guys was exceptional at explaining complicated subjects. His name escapes me though.

The class room is fully equipped with a Christie and Century projector along with a Christie lamphouse. The sound rack is equipped with all three digital formats and a CP500 processor.

The only thing i wish i could of came away with was an info packet that would have helped me remeber more of what was talked about and that would help help me troubleshoot problems easier. But other than that the class was alot of fun and the instructors where top notch.

Beofre attending the class i had never met people with as much projection knowledge as these instructors had. They answered any and every question.

Do they teach you to "thread up" so that the leader or film NEVER EVER touches the floor? Surely they do, as Kodak would never allow leader to hit the floor. Doing so would be amateur. I guess it was a stupid question.

I dont care if they dont teach that because if I didnt know how to thread without having the leader touch the floor I should be kicked out of the booth forever
