Actually it is a JS200 but it has all the additional cards to make it something like their 260 or 280 -- it has all the additional cards except the one that facinates me the most -- the stereo synthisizer card -- something I would really like to hear in action. Anyway the question is, neither the manual nor the back plane gives any hint as to how a monitor is supposed to be hooked up to this unit -- i.e., no specific monitor outputs. In my other setups, the main amps are paralled to small mixer units that have balanced inputs. This booth is REALLY non-profit and won't spring for a mixer like the small Shure 5 channel single output unit that I use with all the Dolby processors. Question here is, can I just parallel the outputs to a 5 way switch into a monitor amp so I can selectively listen to each channel? I am a little wary of that only because I don't want any switching to cause pops in the main amps. I have an Altec amp with an input transformer that I want to drive the monitor speaker with. Good or bad idea? Does anyone hear pops in my future?

You can parralell the processors output via a rotary switch
Be aware you might induce a ground loop related hum problem
Better would be a proper monitor panel and Smart makes a very good one that will monitor both processor and poweramp outputs

Ultra stereo also has a monitor, the CM-60 that is only 2-U tall.Steve
