Should Brad start another Forum where we can moniter dishonest theater owners who stiff techs, service providers and parts/equipment suppliers?

No this is not a credit reporting agency

Besides, it would probably end up being a "Slam-fest" against former employers.

OTOH... There's nothing preventing you from expressing your opinion in its own thread. Those who agree or disagree can put in their $0.02 worth.

On the other hand, let's not involve Brad or this site in a lible action suit.

That would be a very real risk since Brad takes a very hands-on approach to these forums and could not claim that it's akin to a common carrier. Take it to newsgroups.

This is not a people bashing forum. It is an honorable forum.

There is no need for such a forum. Word spreads faster than Bob Maar can post jokes in the joke forum about deadbeat theater owners. Once someone takes advantage of a tech or dealer, word starts to spread. When it happens again, it spreads even more. By the third time, everyone knows.

That being said, if you are going to be servicing someone for the first time or becoming a dealer for them, it is best to ask around (to other techs and dealers - not publicly) as to whether they pay or not before you do any work for them. If there is a bad report out there you must ask yourself if it's worth your time to take the risk of having to deal with it.

Like I said, I'm sure you know a lot of people in the industry, even if it is just through this website. Just ask them directly. Anyone who has been stiffed by a company you are considering doing work for will generally be pleased to provide you with whatever offensive details you need to make the right decision...to let them find help elsewhere.
