I have not seen a numade platter, a theatre owner called me & asked about buying some used one, since I haven't been around any of these, I thought I would ask you guys you opinion on these...the model type & year of these I do not know....thanks guys !!

I have seen them but not used them. Based on secondhand information I have heard, the prints wrap really tight and cause a minor inward bulge when the rings are pulled. Again this is secondhand info here.

The takeup arm requires an unnecessary double twist to the film for some odd reason and the rollers are tiny which puts extra stress on the film, but from what I've seen they do a smooth job at payout...and the decks come pre-grooved!!! That helps greatly to keep the prints from sliding.

I have to agree on the tightness issue with these platters. They do wrap the prints up extremely tight and could cause undue stress on the film with the tiny rollers. However, I have seen a a test print made up of trailers dropped on the floor and the print still held it self together...amazing. But Joe is right, you may end up having the bulging problem on some prints but it was rare when I worked with them. The only real problem I remember with them is static but that was when the first polyester prints were hitting the scene.

Remeber there are several different Neumade platter models and xetron ones as well
