At three different locations, all with CP 500s or CP 45s, all using this USL MDS system, the non sync is distorted. The source is a standard consumer CD player. It sounds as if the MDS is being overdriven (distortion sounds compressed, as if there is a limiter in the circuit) input and output controls have been adjusted, and it does appear to be better with the input controls down, but not totally clear. All wiring is good, and if I bypass the MDS system and feed the Dolby direct from the CD player it sounds crystal-clear and dynamic. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
