What's the difference between a 1570A and a 1570B?
Namely I have a 1570B and a schematic for a 1570A.

Hello Jon,Information and diagrams for Altec Professional audio products are available from Electro Voice as they now own that division.
You may contact them through the WEB, I just don't have that URL handy.
Happy hunting!

I have the schematics for the 1570b amps somewhere at the house. I got two of those amps from a drive-in theatre a couple of years ago.If I can find them, I'll send you a copy.

Altec is not and has NEVER been owned by EV. Altec was owned by the same companies that have owned EV. Like MarkIV and eventually Telex. However, Altec has been sold from Telex to ... ALTEC. Once again, Altec Pro and Altec Consumer are owned by the same company. The official Altec web site is www.altecpro.com There are several unofficial Altec web sites though run by devoted fans like the unoffical Altec Lansing site http://nleinternet.net/alteclansingunofficial/index.html Steve

The only real differences between the 1570A and 1570B is the 'A' was a standalone monoblock amp with no provision for rack mounting, and the component layout is different as well. Here are front and rear pics of a 1570A:
And here is a 1570B, front and rear:

Steve,
They may be self owned again but they have obviously been "Telexed"!
Not a shade of the ole company left, let alone any cinema stuff.....whats the deal. Are parts and such still available at all?
