Rick and Pat are the first two I have seen that are trying to take our recommendations into consideration. Rick indicated he will scan a picture in of the A-3 Phase Control schematic Monday. Kudos to Rick!!
I have met Rick in person, and he is a great guy! He is on our side. So is Pat. I have known Pat for at least 19 years now.

Phil, Brenkert used a spiffy nickel-plated cock on theirs, too. Unfortunately, the attachment and the hole was too small, and was proned to getting plugged up. It would not pass a gear tooth without the aid of a pipe cleaner.Simplex's is only brass with a bigger hole and has a bigger attachment. But that's OK. It is less prone to plugging with gear teeth, bearing fragments and rocks.
Again, let's keep it clean.....

I find it interesting that there are more posts here asking people to keep it clean then there are about the actual component itself. It looks like a good product for those who could use it, and more pictures are always welcome.

I looked that 4-letter word up in the dictionary, and it is a noun. The second definition is: 2: a device (as a faucet or valve) for regulating the flow of a liquid. So I was politically correct, I guess.....
Anyway, I looked over our Simplex XL's today, and I am not sure if it will thread in easily without lifting the projector head off the 5-Star sound head. If, for some reason, there is insufficient clearance, an extender pipe and coupler may be necessary if it is impractical to partially dismantle the machine to install the faucet.
Since it is a pipe thread, I would certainly advise using nylon thread pipe wrap when the faucet is being installed.

It's perfectly common usage so I'm not sure what the giggling is about. I know as a train buff that certain air brake components plus a good number of steam locomotive devices and fittings are known as one kind of cock or another. For example, the combination 45° bend + shutoff valve for the brake hose at each end of a car is known as an angle cock.

At U of IL back when other groups ran 16mm non theatrical as fundraisers my friends and I set up a group to run movies just because we liked to run movies (with changeover, Scope, trailers, etc.) And amidst 2001, M*A*S*H, Animal House etc. that we showed were a couple of XXX pornos (seeing a porn film was a rite of passage back then). I have in my collection today a 35mm porno trailer I found in a booth somewhere.But giggling over cock = valve reminds me of fourth grade geography where we broke up laughing every time the teacher said "damn."

Angelika IS an art house circuit. I was down there last night setting up some equipment for them and they had a print that was labeled "Lake Street Screening Room" on the labels. It was couried straight from your theater Steve! This must be the print you are speaking of.By the way, that print sucked, but I know it wasn't your fault. From what I saw of it, that thing had a lot of runs on it. The projectionist was wondering why some reels were heads up and some were tails up. Any particular reason?
And when do we get pictures of your booth???
BTW, this thread hasn't wandered enough yet. Can someone please chime in with another topic?

If it was Reels 1,2,3 in a metal can I never handled them so cannot comment. What happened was that UPS lost that can, delivering only 4,5,6. So the distrib rushed in new reels 1,2,3 (on cores & plastic cans, in a cardboard box) and that's what I ran. The box with the new 1,2,3 and the can with 4,5,6 were couriered to a local theatre. UPS finally delivered the missing can on Thursday and per the distrib I FDX'd it to Houston but I thought I set it for Monday delivery. I'd bet they had the local theatre send the down the 4,5,6 can so as to keep the same print together and sent them a new set of reels 4,5,6 to match the other new ones.
I only generally put labels with distributor, title and format info when the existing labels are a mess or non-existant. But I may need to rethink that on prints that I cannot attest to the condition of!

Maybe when Dubber #2 is back on platform level. It went out last month to do a test preview of some film about a school for wizards and I'm too lazy to put it back on station until I need it.

Oh, now the plot really thickens because I have an even better story on that one. "Chateau" is a TES print and I set it out for presumed Airborne pickup. When I returned Airborne had dropped one off and "Chateau" was gone so I figured all was well. Then TES called to schedule a pickup and I said I thought Airborne had it but they didn't so it was AWOL. That is until Friday afternoon when I got a call from Reel Easy in Dallas saying their guy had grabbed the wrong print; what should they do. I said sit tight I'll have TES call you. So TES must've needed one at Angelika and had them take it there.

And, yes. Steve is correct. I, too, am a train buff, but probably not as much as Steve is. The cylinders on the steam locomotive have cocks, too. The engineer usually closes the cocks with a foot lever when all the wet steam is expelled from the cylinders. As a young teen-ager, I hung around the rail yards. I remember many times the engineers would yell at me, "Stand clear of the cocks" just before the engineer would get his locomotive underweigh. Those words were accepted by all without any giggles from anyone.
