We had an interesting situation the other day. I put 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding' into one of our digital houses, and being that it has no digital track, the CP500 obviously kicked into SR. The odd thing was, there was hardly any volume at all. It turned out I had to go into the program and manually raise the levels quick, and then fine tune them later with Dolby tone. I can't remember the last time we've haven't used digital in that auditorium. Maybe 2 or 3 years. My question is, has anyone had any problems with their CP500's losing memory? We're running a jax light in that house, and I've heard they get dimmer over time. Any problems with that? I am 100% sure nobody went in and fiddled with the settings, but I'm quite confused none-the-less.

Hello Chad,
How long has the Jaxlight been running?
If you want e-mail, or call me at 1-805-549-0161, to discuss this.
Clint

CP500 is well known for amnesia! However one usually notices more than just Dolby pre-amp gain settings are lost, more like everything is lost.

How much did you have to raise the gains to achieve Dolby level? And how long ago since you last cleaned optics and set level? When was the 'A' chain last fully aligned?

Whilst I'm not the Jax-Light's biggest fan, I will say that I haven't found that that fade particularly quickly.
