I was going to run dras10 on my processor tonight, but it gave me an error like "could not change processor resolution." What can I do to fix this?Josh

Josh, consult Section 8.3 of the DA-20 manual. It tells you how to determine the software revision. It says nothing about using the DRAS10.
Unless I missed something, the DRAS10 won't do that with the DA-20. J3 (a DB9 connectoid) will monitor the Auxiliary Data Channel which supports RS232C signal levels. I found nothing in the manual that addresses the use of the DRAS10 to determine the software version.
Only Section 8.3 discussed that, and it involves a switching sequence with LED read-out numbers. The conversion of these numbers to the chart in that section will tell you what the software version is.
However, I do remember with the DA-10 that this serial connection was connected via modem and software for Dolby to monitor the performance of the unit when it was introduced in the cinema market.
Hopefully, other forum members that know more about that beast that I do can give you a more accurate opinion than what I just presented.

You can either change your puters resolution first or be persistant it will probably connect anyway if you are persistant (I've also had that message with the version that comes on the magenta Dolby CD-ROM, that version also is missing the startup screen).Steve

I've had that response before too. Usually it just requires trying again (a couple of times, more often than not) or sometimes just waiting a few minutes.
And, after it spits that message out for some reason it often will not show the contour plot. But, seems how you only need the scope to align the reader, DRAS10 is mostly just a toy.

Anyway, I tried running it on my windows ME system and it would make the system lock up after you hit ok to clear the dialog box. Are you suggesting I try and run a different screen resolution? This program worked fine on the Cp 500, why wont it work with the Da20 as well?Josh

Yes Josh, Pin-to-Pin. I have not had good luck with either DRAS10 or LOAD500 under either Win2kpro or ME. What I do is I have a disk that boots to DOS6.22.

Why don`t you use WinDRAS? I had no problems with it on an XP laptop connected to the DA20.
