Is there a part that will allow you to convert the five, unsecured rollers on the back of the red SPECO platters, over a set of three with keeper rollers (Like found on the newer blue models)? The rollers seem to be mounted all on one metal bar on both new and old platter models.

If a conversion is possible, it would cut down on film jumping or riding on the rollers, especially during threading.

If you're talking about SPECO LP-270 platters, I think you want Keeper Roller retrofit kit # 001-0030-01. The kit was issued in 1992.

Is this the model you are refering to?

If so then going in reverse can be difficult to get it down to three rollers. Although we havn't on ours you can add keeper rollers to those rollers. But it will slow you down in threading.

Yes to both of those questions. Thanks for the info guys, it's worth a try. I'll see if my Ops manager will order that kit.

If you want to convert the old "red" LP270 platters from 5 elevator rollers to the original "Drive in" design of 3 elevator rollers, all you need to do is purchase the keeper rollers and mount (not sure the part number) and lose the two extra brackets.
