Has anyone else noticed that when you play "The Core" trailer on Star Trek in DTS The kid from that new guy movie says that he wants tapes of Star Trek, but in the SR version he says he wants kung fu tapes.

I think that this is a pretty neat marketing idea.

I have always thought that the analogue soundtrack on the Dolby Digital Trailer should be some guy explainging just how good the sound would be if the audience were actually listening to it in Dolby Digital. [Big Grin]

I think there may be a free standing version, but I havent seen it yet.
The SDDS track says Star Trek tapes as well.
We play Star Trek in analog (No SRD, no DTS).
Maybe soon Ill go in and play the trailers in analog as well to hear the difference.

The SRD version I saw today ALSO said Star Trek tapes.

The analog track on The Core trailer they sent me to put on Lord of the Rings, wich was the same as the one on Star Trek, said Star Trek tapes on it.

It could be possable that they changed the soundtrack at the last minute on the stand alone trailers.

I ran the print today with the trailer in SR for one show and then in DTS for a show. It most Definitely says Kung Fu in the SR version and Star Trek in the DTS version. I first though they changed it on the DTS disk especially for Star Trek (which would be a "way cool" marketing idea) but now im leaning towards in bieng a last minute change maybe they didnt think "Kung Fu" was nerdy enough? (Not that Trek is nerdy just the character is a nerdy type person)

The "Home Fries" trailer had a couple background songs changed on the later versions, but still played the songs from the original version on the DTS trailer discs. I spent one show changing it from digital to analog and back again just to make sure I wasn't hearing things, wonder if that confused anyone in the audience.
There was also an Austin Powers II trailer that had an alternate take on the DTS disc, with the sound also out of sync.

I have seen the stand alone version, and it said Star Trek. The first time I saw Nemessis, it was playing in SDDS, and it said Star Trek. I have no idea what sound track was playing the second time I saw it, but it was at a different theater and it said Kung Fu. I was a little anoyed. Strange they would only do that on the SR track. Why??? Kung Fu doesn't even make sense in the context of that line.
