Does anyone know of any other manufacturers take up ring that might fit this platter? The original rings are no longer made.

Which platter is this? The orange or the brown? If they take the same type of rings, I will be getting rid of a whole bunch of ORC rings very soon. I'd let you have them for the cost of shipping, which wouldn't be tremendously cheap considering how much they weigh.

Drill out your own holes sized for Christie rings. Just set the ring on top of the deck (propped up with Post-it notes or playing cards) and spin the platter to make sure you are absolutely centered, then mark the holes-to-be with a marker, then drill.

They are the black ones. There is a brown version made by Strong that is 35/70 but takes the same rings.. Spare parts for these are very rare, as Strong no longer makes parts for them and it appears that they didn't sell too many to start with..

I was hoping to avoid drilling, but if that's the last resort....

Jim, The take up ring should be the same one that the RL Brownfield (original Potts ) platter uses. It is cast aluminum. or the larger ring for the current BALCO platter should work also. Happy holidays!!
