In my hunt for a lapmhouse setup, I've come across a Strong Xenon Power supply model # 6280106.

Are there any known issues or reliability problems with this model?

Here are the details from the faceplate : LINE: A.C.AMPS 20.2;A.C.VOLTS 200-240; HERTZ 50-60;PHASE 1-3; K.V.A. 3.5; LAMP: D.C.AMPS 50-100;D.C.VOLTS 20-30;TYPE 6280106;SERIAL # 1125;

Hello Dan,

For me these power supply work great when they are used in single phase and neutral configuration. From more than 7 years I use 10 of them in two multiplexes without troubles. But the xenon lamp we use with theses power supply is in a range from 1 kw up 2.5 kw. no more.
By the past in the biggest auditorium we had a 7 kW xenon with a another Strong power supply running three phase circuit. Wat's happend ? At the moment the projectionist switched off the light of the auditorium, the power supply blowed up ! [Mad]

From this time we used a classical Irem rectifier an recently we replace them by a brand new electronical rectifier, in a single phase configuration.
Conclusion: these power supply from Srong working fine but only in a single phase configuration an a output power up to 2,5 kW.
On advice I believe that Strong made a new rectifier more compact and less expensive, but in don't remember the model number. Ask your local dealer.

Had little grief in both 3 phase and single phase if they are kept cool,well grounded , and stable power supplied to them.
And when they die they are light enough to pickup and ship back to strong cheaply and litterly plug in another
