We received a new splicer from NCS and thought it was a Neumade 35ss, but come to find out it was a Splycmar 35tk. It looks just like the Nuemade, but it doesn't cut as well, and the paint was chipping off when we received it. Just wondering if anyone has encountered one of these.

First time I've heard of a knockoff of a Neumade splicer. Do you have a picture of it?

This new, boxed "Westar" 35mm splicer just sold for US$ 77 on eBay, whereas a used Newmade 35SS with a bent handle fetched $ US 185.
Go figure? The Westar surely looks to me like a Neumade, but where the metal label should appear is a white fuzz. Is this a knockoff? Anyone know its quality?

actually no I do not have a scanner, but it looks identical to the neumade with the exception of that strip where the serial number is located.

Neumade also has a US-made version of their splicer...it looks a bit rougher than the Somar (Japan) version.
