I've seen plastic retaining sleeves with removeable filters that replace the wire grill on the intake fan in catalogs. I want to give this a try to keep some of the dirt and dust out of the lamphouse, especially on 2k's where you don't change the bulb too often. I just wanted to know if anyone has tried these, and what they've experienced, they claim not to reduce cfm at all, but if you don't keep the filter really clean you would probably lose a lot of air flow.

Indeed. That's the problem. People will probably ignore them when they get dirty. Most people are too lazy to even change anykind of filter - until it's plugged. Then it might be too late.

The ultimate booth would have ducted air feeds to all of the lamps. The air could be filtered of course but the real benefit is not the lamps but the fact that the air flow through the booth itself would be greatly reduced making practical better control of the humidity and the use of electronic air cleaners to reduce dust.
