What kind of belt can I get to go on my takeup for my BX80/9030 setup?
I am using a sewing machine belt right now but it doesn't quite work so well.

Get a hunk of "Roundthane".....theatre supply houses have that stuff in stock. I think Strong International does, also. Be sure to get the barbed fitting so you can butt the ends together.

There's a drive-in booth here in Tennessee that runs BX-100's w/ 9030 soundheads, & 6000' changeovers, he uses a small diameter clear rubber or vinyl hose and has the ends mated together with some type of "barbed" nylon fitting. It's worked for the last 4 years....

You can buy it online from McMaster-Carr. www.mcmaster.com Follow these links - Power Transmission - Round Drive Belts or just find online catalog page 934. As Paul said, don't forget to buy the barbs to connect the ends.

I've also used the largest diameter fish tank air hose in a jam. As long as it is farily stiff it works really well.

Just so you know what you're looking for Sam, roundthane is usually yellow.
