"Gangs of New York" will open over here in Germany next week. Due to the length of the film our management board has decided to play it with an intermission (i know, definitely not according to Scorseses intention, but it's all about concession-turn over...).
As there will be no chance to see it in a preview or press-screening before, it would be really nice if there was someone from the US who could provide recommendations for both technically and content-relating "elegant" possibilities for the intermission and when to make it. The best would be after somewhat 60 - 80 minutes (as we do have approximately 35 minutes of pre-feature-film advertisements) and therefore after reels 4 or 5.
Thanks for your input!

Oliver, the best place is on the end of reel 5 , this is about 90 mins. in. I tried it at end of reel 4 but this is in the middle of a dialogue sequence. Best of luck! We endured this film for 4 weeks!
