RCA's 35mm television projector is a very interesting piece of equipment. From what little I know, the gearing, intermittent, and light source all had to be modified to meet the demands of television's scanning pulse. I have been collecting pieces and so far have the pedistal (21304), the soundhead and sync motor(rca mi-26300), the mags (6000'), and most of the projection head (no nameplate but I assume it's the BX 90 with the special intermittent). I also have the small rectangular lamphouse, but have not yet found the special 5 blade shutter. And now, what I hope I can find on Film-Tech is some information. Do any of you have pictures or manuals from this machine? Do any of you have any experiece running these into a filmchain? I would really appreciate anything you might be able to pass along. I would be glad to pay for any photocopying and mailing costs. Also, once I figure out what I still need, I would be happy to buy parts you might have. Thanks for your help in advance.

Contact Edward wolk Company since in 1959 they bought out the RCA line of parts and rights of manufacture. Prior to their most recent move they had two RCA 35mm telecine units in the the warehouse.

I want to say that the BX-90 intermittent is nothng more than an adaptation of the Powers pin-cross movement. The Powers had pretty close to a 5 to 1 pull down. The RCA projector had seperate sync motors for shutter and film drive that were refrenced to the station sync pulse generator.
The later RCA FR35 machines, particuluarly the FR35B was actually a really neat machine. All electronic pulldown, and servo controled. It could do 5 to 1, and 3 to 1 pull down by changing a jumper on the drive card. Film could be rewound thorugh the film path, or reel to reel. Some were used for studio projection work.
