I think the fuse used in an AW3 is a Littelfuse "Micro" 273 series, 5 amp rating. Can anyone verify this?

Fuse, 125-V, 5-Amp 546105-008

Littelfuse part number 273005 125v 5A

Newark Electronics Part number 28F082

Mouser part number 5761-73005

As of right now Newark is cheaper. I have known several people that will just solder across the terminals when the fuses blow, as two fuses usually will cost you $6-10.

Great, thanks! Three bucks for a fuse... damn....

Jumping out the fuse sounds like bad karma to me... bad motor or something else. I think I would wire in a regular 3AG fuse holder if it happened often enough.

A fuse is alot easier and cheaper to replace than a major component or circuit board. Worst case scenario is an electrical fire. [Frown]

Don't spend that much for a fuse! Just find a theatre that installed AW3s circa 1997 and ask them where they have the pile of dead "C" version motor cards and grab the fuses from there! [Smile]

(Sorry...had to. I like the AW3, but the 1979-vintage models seem to work better than the 1997-vintage ones, with their squeaky motors, crappy drive pucks, and flaky motor cards. Thankfully Christie has fixed all of these issues by now.)
