Over the last three years or so, static wraps have been a BIG problem. It seemed wraps would occur daily. This year... NO PROBLEMS... NONE! The problem has gone away. And no more film damage. My film engineer told me the film labs now use a new wash that solves the static problem. All I can say is Thank You! [Smile]

Its been a long time since we had a static problem. We used to have them all the time but over the last few years they've dissapeared almost entirely. We really haven't done anything different so I was wondering if it was film related.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing tonight. I don't remember having any static related problems since last fall/winter. I just didn't want to jinx it by saying anything [Smile]

I guess I haven't really noticed any difference being that I have used Film-Guard on just about everything for the last 2 years. Nothing is better for killing static than Film-Guard, plus our films look as good on the fist run as the last! [thumbsup]

Kodak VISION Color Print film has a transparent conductive layer on the back side. It was introduced in 1998, but still required that labs use an anti-static process additive ("Staticide") that Kodak recommended for optimum static protection. Sometimes, labs inadvertently had insufficient Staticide in the process, so a few prints might still have been sensitive to "static cling" on platters. Last year, Kodak made additional improvements to the antistatic layer used in VISION Color Print film, eliminating the need for labs to use any Staticide on 35mm prints. Experience has shown almost no static problems since this improvement.

We did hear of some recent "static cling" problems with a particular feature in the UK, that turned out to have been printed on another manufacturer's film.
