On some of our CP-500's the volume on the non-sync doesn't change no matter what I do to the trimpots on the non-sync board. Any suggestions?

There is a way to edit the format itself so that it kicks in at a preselected overall fader level. It's in the manual.

I only have one of these machines and I rarely have to fiddle about with it so I'm sorry I can't be more detailed than that.

Use the trimpots as a means of getting a good preamp level and also to balance left/right signals.

Forget about soft controls - if the level doesnt change with the pots you've either got a faulty CP500 (unlikely) or an alternative signal path (most likely an earth loop) somewhere. Try using NS2 - same problem ? How are the RCA's wired ? Are you linking the CP500 signal ground to real earth ?

What happens if you connect to an acc rack input ?

We've found isolation transformers vital when we start to get too clever and link too many things to the CP500 (cpxx)

You are right, Peter. I have never seen a faulty CP500. These units just don't have technical problems.

Ummm...I've wondered about this myself. I don't know who those people are. I don't ever remember sending in a member photo. [Eek!]
