I just received a 2" lens (Cine Navitar 51mm) for my BX80 and when I use it the image is rounded at the bottom. I checked and found that the light from the lens is hitting the front insides of the lens holder assembly. I was using a 61mm lens before and I guess I will have to stick with it.
The question is this: Is there a lens that will fill a 7'8" screen at a 19' throw for widescreen that will work properly in my BX? I really don’t think there is unless I go to a zoom attachment. Any suggestions?
Here are a couple of shots of my lens holder and lens.

Sam I'm using a 2" Wollensak f/1.9 lens on my BX-40. Same lens holder as your BX-80. With it focused and a 15 foot throw, the image mkaes it out of the front of the lens holder without being cut off. Maybe the front your lens (owing to its optics) is further back in the holder than with my lens [Confused]

best, Jeff

Is the lens so far back in the lens holder itself that the corners of the image hit the holder's barrel? That would be where I would look. Also if you are using a magnacom or something similar, you can have this problem as well.

Its the lens design, so I am going to try and find something else. [Frown]
