I've got a Broadcast Warehouse TX-5 transmitter with a type "N" 50 ohm connector on the rear for connecting the antenna.

I've also got a Ramsey "True Match" FM antenna that I built as a kit. I don't have a clue what type of impedance level this antenna has.

Are these two compatible?

Pretty much all broadcast RF is 50-ohm.

Did you get your TX at Progressive? If so they sale a great 5/8 wave antenna that is small, non-obtrusive, and does a mean job! I'd look in to it. I think it's under $100. E-mail me if you need the specs and I'll look up my stuff.

All broadcast stuff is indeed 50 ohm out. The antenna you are talking about would do just fine. If all else fails you can find plans on the net for a J-pole antenna that you can construct from copper plumbing pipe for around $15.

Thanks guys, I was hoping this would be the answer. I'll just need to make a quick trip to Radio Shack and find an adapter for the fittings.
