Have got two trailer prints for "Chicago" - both printed in 1,85 - but one filling out the full widescreen frame, the other "letterboxed" as coming from CinemaScope material. Feature print is 1,85.
How come ?

Welcome to Chicago! I couldn't frame that thing decent to save my life. I think right about the time I got used to it, maybe 6 weeks later, it was on the way out. My first problem is all the material that came with it said it was either scope or flat - I forget which, but when you went to splice it it looked just the opposite. Then when you went to frame it on the screen there was so much "above" and "below" the aperature gap that you had to pick the spot that you thought was right. If I remember correctly, if you framed it so the heads were right at the beginning you had something else chopped off later on. We had it for a 2 week sneak preview before it was "officially" made wide distribution, and I think it took us the whole 2 weeks to get the splicing errors out of it - 3 or 4 different people, and none of us could splice it decent... Talk about embarrassing... that one easily takes the prize [Frown]

Not to mention the fact that I thought it was a stupid movie to start with, and I really hated the sight of it before it left....
