At our theater, we use a small little magnet to hold up our showtime schedules, maintenence checklists to the Xenon consoles. My question is, would this in any way affect the performance or the life of the lamp? Thanks.

I cannot imagine that a tiny magnet (like a refrigerator magnet) would have any effect on lamp life or quality of use whatsoever.

This is more of a tiny industrial magnet with a stronger magnetic field than that of which you would find on a refridgerator magnet, etc. I highly doubt it either but what a better place to find out for sure!

Do you have a projector with a viewing glass for the arc? Then you can visually inspect the position of the arc and see if it is steady and centered on the anode. You could also move the magnet around and see if it has any effect.
