Does anyone have a manual for a Ultra Stereo JB serie processor. This is a center surround unit. I could not get my Ultra Stereo pink noise generator to fit in the card cage, so I am trying to find a manual.
Thanks!!!

There is a small card extender that is required with a opamp on it

While we are on the subject. What is the correct matrix card to use for the JB series. I have a unit without the card and have to run in bypass. Will the JS series matrix card work?

The centre surround USL didn't require the matrix card as the L-R and L+R were generated at the NR cards

Then am I missing a card? I have no sound expect for bypass. I have 2 empty slots in the cage. Next to the format card and next to the power supply.

If memory serves there should be the preamp card next to it 2 NR cards one A type one SR then the format card stage eq card surround/delay card monitor/excitor

The first empty slot must be for the SR card. The second empty slot which is next to the surround eq card must be for the syn card I'm guessing. If that's the case then I have no idea why I only have sound in bypass. I have no sound in mono, stereo, or non sync.

Starting from the left...
Pre-amp
"A" type noise reduction
SYnthesizer module/Pink noise slot
Format module
Center EQ
Surround EQ
Monitor module
Exciter lamp power supply
Speaker/Transformer box
The JB-2 was a front back processor with a booth monitor and exciter supply all in one three rack mount chassis.
It has not been built in well over a dozen years. We do however still service the modules.
As for your particular problem with it it may be a couple of things. One would be the Format module has gone bad.
E-mail or call USL 805-549-0161 and we can help trouble shoot this.

Thanks Clint. I will do that.

We used to service three of these contraptions...see if the +/- rail LEDs light up (I think this one has those too...like the normal JS series). I've changed out the bridge rectifier circuits more than once on them (individual diodes, if memory serves)

Oh yea, and that backup switch on the power supply... if there still is one. They all fail eventually. Yank it out and bypass it.
