Hi everyone

I'm doing some mainteinance of our V5s during these days. I need your opinion on few problems:

1. The little spring roller just above the gate, the one that hold the print laterally. It usually doesn't rotate. When I install it I tight the lateral screw as tight as it can rotate freely with the minimal lateral movement. But when the print is running the thing doesn't move.
2. The rollers that hold the print on the sound drum. I've been told to clean it with something like white petroleum (at least we call it in this way in Italy!) and no more. No oil, no lubrication. But that roller is ball bearing. With no oil the roller stops rotating in half a day...
I do not want to use something like WD40 in my projector. What is supposed to use into that rollers?

Hi Antonio,
When I was useing Vic 5s on a weekly basis used to remove that roller clean and put a light coating of silicon lube.It has to be done every week.

The idea is to keep the roller lubricated without risking any of the lubricant finding its way onto the film - hence sillicon gel, which is of a much thicker consistency than oil and thus less likely to run.
