We just got a new projector at the Riatlo Cinemas. It's a Sanyo PZL31N. We had to buy a long throw zoom lens for it so that the projector could be in the booth and have a nice 4x3 image on our screen.

Here is a picture of our video table. We purchased a used Betacam SP deck and we brought in a DVD player from the house. We have 7 video rental events this fall so we thought purchasing the equipment might be a better idea.

I love the torn digital image, just goes to show you how good digital can be.

Buy the Bravo D-1 DVD player for $199 and you can hook it up to your projector via DVI cable for much increased quality.

I tend to recommend a good scaler/switcher as an early addition to a video system.

Consider an Extron System 7SC as a starting point...there are better and lesser ones but it is a good starting point.

Extron System 7SC

It will let you select between your various sources, switch your audio and balance out their levels. It will also scale all of your lesser formats up to the native resolution of your video projector so they will look as good as they can. The unit can also control your projector so you can turn off the projector without killing the fan or put up annoying OSD messages.

Not as much as you'd think. We got a nice credit with our cinema supplier from the seating company for screw-ups in our seating install, so in the words of Scott Hicks (at American Cinema Equipment), we got a screamin deal.

Dear Kevin.
I would safely say that here in Oz the thing would cost a lot more than the price shown. Certainly more than the average independant exhibitor could afford or justify.
