If anyone is interested I found a replacement motor gear for the LA100 newer model. I know fo two models, The older uses a little larger gear and the newer a little smaller. The gear is a Berg F24U6-30. I just had to drill the two holes for 4-32 mounting screws. The other gears should be available I jsut haven't sized them yet.

Thanks, Larry. I have noted the only motor failures I hae had with the LA-100 is bearing faulure - especially the aperature changer motor. Normally when they start getting sluggish, I dismantle the motor and clean the bearings up. The motors are impedance protected and rarely burn out.

Since those motors are stopping on "stall", they get hotter than a popcorn fart and the grease in the bearings crystalize. Hence, it is like someone pouring Poly-Grip into the bearings.

Ya, we have to periodically do the same. Over all we have had very few problems with them. We do only have 9 in the whole circuit though. Your right about the motors heating up. That is what caused the plastic gear to fail(melt).
