I have done my searches here on Film-Tech and on the Internet and cannot find a suggested way to properly store those big 5,000 meter reels. Is there such animal in the marketplace?

We have a need to build up three or four features per week to be shown on alternate days.

We would need something floor mounted of course that would hold these reels up vertically. Earthquakes are common here I might add.

We have talented carpenters and metal workers so all I would need is a photo or two of something that works.

Thanks for any help you can point me toward.

At my cinema we obtained some lengths of 2 x 2inch timber.
Drilled holes through it, and placed bolts the same diamater as the spool spindle size through the holes.
The timber was then fixed to the wall.
The spool can now be bolted to this piece of timber.
The wood was fixed on the wall at a height of half the spool diamater plus 6inches.

I have mounted on the wall of the booth large "L" shaped hooks.
I keep my spare reels on them mostly.
But I occasionally hang a full reel on them if I've built up a new film early or something.

You just have to make sure you use heavy enough duty ones to handle the weight ( and attach them secure enough to the wall studs ).
