• Will there be demo screenings in major cities, or at least NY/LA? I missed them last time around when they came to New York (for 5218), and they never made it to Boston.
• At the moment, negative film is a generation and a half or so past release print film, right? Can we expect the same technologies to translate into improved print film, or are the technological advances somehow specific to negative film?
• Similarly, how does the film used for interneg/interpos stack up?
• Unlike 5218, it doesn't seem to be available in 65mm Any particular reason?

It's great to see advances in film technology when digital keeps trying to catch up. I hope Kodak will be able to PR this well.

Demos of new films are shown on a regular basis by all of Kodak's motion picture offices. For example, Hollywood has screenings every Tuesday morning and New York City has the popular "Film at 11:00, Lunch at 12:00" seminars:

Kodak often is invited to present the technology and demos of new films at local SMPTE meetings and other meetings of production professionals.

Technologies for camera negative and print films are different, but both are likely to continue significant improvement. Kodak Entertainment Imaging continues to invest about 70% of R&D in FILM related technology.

Kodak VISION Color Intermediate Film just had significant improvements a few years ago, in 2001:

If there is a need for the lower contrast "look" in a 65mm production, I'm sure any significant order would be considered.

Actually I wish that films were getting slower in speed than faster. This sort of thing will only lead to more incompetant dark cimematography with golf ball size grain. Things are already bad enough in this catagory!

Mark: Stay tuned, as two more (lower speed) Kodak VISION2 stocks are on the way soon!

(Although even the Kodak VISION2 500T stocks have remarkably low graininess for such fast films).
